Chief Mate
Job description
- Making sure the ship’s crew complies with maritime laws, international treaties, and other regulations.
- Conducting safety inspections of the ship and crew facilities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Managing all aspects of the crew’s health and safety, including training programs for new members of the crew and emergency response procedures during accidents.
- Monitoring weather conditions and communicating with other ships in the area to ensure safe navigation.
- Supervising deckhands to ensure they are performing their duties safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining logs of information such as ship movements and cargo activities.
- Preparing reports on weather conditions, hazards, and other information that may affect the safety of the ship or crew.
- Coordinating with the ship’s captain to ensure the proper functioning of the vessel.
- Follow the regular maintenance for bridge and deck along with related equipment.
- Prepare tugboat for towing other vessels.
- Fully familiar with towing connection.

Chief Engineer
Job description
- Holds complete responsibility for the operation of the engine room and any maintenance of machinery onboard the vessel.
- As head of Marine Engineering on board ship, the Marine Chief Engineer works closely with the Captain, to ensure that the physical aspect of the vessel is completely under control.
- Must work within a small team to ensure that all maintenance is completed efficiently and in depth.
- Must maintain inventory for any spare parts, extra fuel and oil. This inventory must be kept up to date.
- Troubleshooting during operations
- Must ensure that the engine room is well kept and prepared for inspection by higher authorities, and it is the Marine Chief Engineer’s responsibility in the event that the inspection finds the room unsatisfactory.
- Determine the volume of oil, fuel and lube required for each voyage and ensure that substantial quantities of each is on board.
- Delivers general daily operation of the engine room to his primary assistant.

Second Engineer
Job description
- Ensuring that all maintenance work activities are carried out safely and diligently, using good engineering practice, observing the Code of Safe Working Practices and the Company’s Safety Management System.
2. Instructing the Engine Room Chief Petty Officer for the cleaning and maintenance of the machinery spaces.
3. Receiving regular reports from the Electro-Technical Officer and Shipwright to ensure that work from which a hazardous situation may result is carried out with his authority and oversight.
4. Ensuring that the requirements of the Company and statutory training programs are met.
5. Maintaining an interest in any delegated area of responsibility that is specified by the Senior Chief Engineer Officer.
6. Performing Engine Room watch-keeping duties in a manner necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the ship’s plant and machinery and the protection of the environment.

Tugboat Bosun
Job description
- Planning the daily work schedule under the purview of the Chief Officer and assigning the required work to the appropriate members of the deck crew.
- Seeing that the work assigned to the crew is realized to the end.
- Maintaining the deck of the ship; tasks involve chipping, painting, buffing etc. and overall maintenance of the deck.
- Maintenance of the windlass of the ship to ensure its optimum performance during stations. Also, to perform repair work onboard as required.
- Being thorough with the firefighting aspects of the ship and ensuring that other deck crews are thorough as well.
- Responsible for the ship’s deck stores, paint locker, Bosun store and other such areas as assigned to the Bosun by the Chief Officer.
- Ensuring that the mooring operations, anchoring or the vessel is carried out efficiently.
- Inform the Chief Officer of the progress of the deck work being carried out.
- Being the connect between the officers and the crew with regard to shipboard work.
