Marine Operation Manager

1-Responsible for the operations of the company vessels such, floating crane, tugboat, barges, and, dredgers
2- Managing the vessels operation during construction blocks installation or removal, installation intake and outfall pipelines, demolishing works, gravel placement, maneuvering in tight area, etc.

3- responsible on all towing operations including connections, weather forecast, crewing, etc.
4- managing the logistic side of sailing operation

5- ensuring that vessels are anchored safely
6- Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations

7- Strong knowledge and know how in offshore construction activities
8- Ensuring safe operation of vessels

Pre-requisites

-Bachelor in civil engineer (offshore), or any related field

-Egypt/ Jordan/ or any Arab Nationality

Floating Crane Operator

Job description
  1. Operate the main and deck cranes within the designed (SWL) loads in accordance with the de-rating tables applicable to existing weather and sea state condition.
  2. Drive the assigned crane.
  3. Ensure that the safe work procedures for crane lifts are adhered to.
  4. Check the status of the machine in general, the mechanical conditions, the certifications and the instrumentations of the ables.
  5. Check before every lifting that the weights are in the capacity limits of the crane and that will be present all the conditions to implement the lifting (correct rigging, acceptable weather conditions, lifty area free of people).
  6. Reporting any malfunction immediately.
  7. Liaise with bridge and 1st Assistant Superintendent /Deck Foreman when making any lift that could affect the vessel stability.
  8. Ensure that only marked, certified and suitable lifting appliances are used and available for use for lifting purposes.
  9. Make daily inspection of crane cable and condition.
  10. Maintain the cranes on a daily basis cleaning action including operator cabin.
  11. Liaise with 1st Assistant Engineer/Chief Electrical on crane maintenance and performance in order to ensure that repairs and preventive maintenance are carried out properly.
  12. Inspect weekly the cranes in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendation.
  13. Fill up the crane logbook as required for all lifts over 50tons.
  14. Carry out properly all orders and instructions given by his superior.

Electrician (Tugboat & Barge)

  1. Responsible for inspecting electrical components such as wiring, fuses, transformers, breakers, switches, circuit breakers, and panels for defects
  2. Troubleshooting electrical problems by testing equipment to find the source of the problem
  3. Installing new electrical equipment and wiring, including fiber optic cables for telecommunications systems
  4. Maintaining electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, motors, lighting systems, circuit breakers, switchgear, and relays

Mechanic (Tugboat & Barge)

  1. Inspecting equipment for safety issues, noting any issues with the equipment or making repairs as needed.
  2. Troubleshooting problems with engine performance or fuel efficiency to determine the cause of the issue.
  3. Performing routine maintenance such as oil and filters changes and to ensure that vessels are operating efficiently.
  4. Inspecting equipment for signs of wear or damage, and reporting problems to the appropriate parties for repair or replacement.
  5. Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel engines and other heavy machinery.
  6. Diagnosing mechanical problems with diesel engines, including intake and exhaust valves, timing devices, injectors, fuel pumps, and exhaust gas recirculation systems.
  7. Performing preventative maintenance checks on vessels to ensure they are safe to sail.
  8. Installing, repairing, or replacing parts of engines.
  9. Installing and repairing electrical components such as starters, alternators, voltage regulators, and switches.
  10. Installing and repairing hydraulic components such as pumps, filters, hoses, and cylinders.
  11. Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Oiler (Tugboat & Barge)

  1. Replacing used lubricants with new ones to ensure optimal performance of machinery for long periods of time.
  2. Monitoring the equipment’s temperature levels to ensure that it does not overheat or overcool.
  3. Inspecting fluid levels, temperatures, pressures, and other parameters to ensure that equipment is working properly.
  4. Cleaning machinery parts and equipment to remove buildup of dirt and grime.
  5. Inspecting equipment for signs of wear or damage, and reporting problems to the appropriate parties for repair or replacement.
  6. Filling fuel tanks with gasoline or diesel fuel at service stations or other locations where vessel is serviced.
  7. Changing oil filters, replacing oil filters, and adding new oil to engines as needed.
  8. Monitoring oil levels in engines to ensure that they do not run low or overheat.
  9. Inspecting equipment for signs of wear or damage, and reporting problems to the appropriate parties for repair or replacement.
  10. Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Barge Captain

  1. Familiar with working in tight area for marine construction work.
  2. Fully familiar with towing connection.
  3.  Working with other related teams (land,lifting, diving, etc.) .
  4. Monitoring weather conditions and making adjustments to routes accordingly.
  5. Working with other members of the crew to ensure that all tasks associated with barge operations are carried out in a timely manner.
  6. Ensuring that all safety measures are followed on board the barge at all times.
  7. Inspecting the barge and its equipment thoroughly before each trip begins to ensure that it is seaworthy.
  8. Operating and maintaining all equipment on board the barge, including engines, generators, pumps, and navigation systems.
  9. Maintaining communication with other vessels via radio or other means to ensure safe passage of all parties involved.
  10. Preparing vessel maintenance records, such as logbooks and maintenance schedules.
  11.  Coordinating with other crew members to ensure that cargo is loaded and unloaded safely.

Tugboat Captain

  1. Communicating with other ship operators, harbor pilots, and port officials regarding navigational safety rules and regulations.
  2. Familiar with operating in tight area for marine construction work.
  3. Manage a crew of deckhands and apprentices who take care of the maintenance of the boat.
  4. Monitoring weather conditions to ensure the safety of the vessel and crew.
  5. Maintaining logs of all activities on board the boat including fuel consumption during trips, repairs made during downtime, and other relevant information.
  6. Supervising the loading and unloading of cargo aboard ships in harbors and ports
  7. Navigating the boat through difficult waters or narrow channels using knowledge of tides, currents, and wind patterns.
  8. Towing other vessels (tugs, barges, dredgers etc….) and fully familiar with towing connection.
  9. Controlling the speed of the boat using the engine controls or rudder to steer the boat in the desired direction.
  10. Inspecting equipment and machinery on board the boat for damage or wear and making repairs as necessary.
  11. Maintaining safety standards on board the vessel by enforcing regulations regarding safety equipment, life preservers, fire drills, and other procedures.
  12. Solving crew problems and to be the representative of them with company.
  13. Monitoring weather conditions and communicating with other ships in the area to ensure safe navigation.
